air source heat pump

North Shields air source heat pump retrofit

We were recently called upon by a homeowner in North Shields who was looking to upgrade their existing heating system to a more energy-efficient and sustainable solution. After careful consideration, we recommended a Mitsubishi Ecodan 14kW air source heat pump system for this project.

Dumfries Air South Heat Pump Install

For this project we installed a 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan.  A 300 litre mains pressure unvented domestic hot water cylinder looks after the family’s domestic hot water needs.  Heating is via underfloor heating to the ground floor and radiators and towel rails to the first floor, all installed by Geowarmth.

Durham Mitsubishi Ecodan Heat Pump Project

This recent project involved the installation of two Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pumps in a detached house in Durham, alongside a new underfloor heating (UFH) system and domestic hot water (DHW) provision. The homeowner was keen to upgrade their existing heating system to a more energy-efficient and sustainable solution.

Get support in choosing the right heat pump

With over 20 years of experience installing heat pumps, we can provide expert advice on the best solution for your home.

Air source heat pumps

Installed externally, an air source heat pump draws warmth from the ambient air outside your home. Working well even in colder temperatures, the warm air is used to heat your home and provide hot water.

Commercial heat pump

Ground source heat pumps

With pipes installed underground, a ground source heat pump can tap into the stable temperature of the earth beneath your property, providing consistent heating and hot water throughout the seasons.

Why Geowarmth for Heat Pumps?

Energy Independence

Heat pumps offer a reliable source of heating and cooling by efficiently transferring heat from one space to another, reducing dependence on traditional heating and cooling systems – giving you greater control over your indoor climate.

Cost Savings

Modern heat pumps can be four times more efficient than gas boilers, using far less energy to produce the same amount of heat. With the right installation you can see your total energy bills come down.

Environmental Impact

By switching to a heat pump, you can reduce your home’s reliance on fossil fuels, lowering your carbon footprint and help to combat climate change.

Increased Property Value

Installing heat pumps can increase the value of your property, as potential future buyers are increasingly looking for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly features in homes.

Customer Reviews

All workers and workmanship was to a very high standard. We were kept up to date with delivery dates and once the items were with Geowarmth a time was agreed for them to be fitted. The advice about size, position and the fitting of the PV panels and 9.5kW battery was very useful and over the last year has proved correct- as expected for such a good, ‘can-do’ company. I would highly recommend Ceowarmth

Customer Reviews

Geowarm fitted my Mitsubishi air source heat pump and complete central heating system. They did a great job, very good attention to detail by their plumber. They were easy to deal with and did what they said.

Customer Reviews

They removed the old Baxi back boiler, pipework, Old tank and 10 radiators with care. Routed, insulated & installed the new pipework, 11 radiators, towel rail and connected the new hot water tank to our existing PV solar panels. In mid winter our electric usage from the system never shows more than 3kw!! 18 months later we have a reliable, green & safer system to heat our rooms and water.

Customer Reviews

We are pleased with the installation of a Mitsubishi heat pump. The house is comfortable, bills reasonable, and we have moved from gas heating. The Geowarmth engineers took the trouble to source better tanks and components to fit the space we had available.

FAQs

How do heat pumps work?

Heat pumps operate by transferring heat from one location to another using a refrigeration cycle. They extract heat from the outside air, ground or water source and then transfer and amplify it to warm your property and heat your water.

Are heat pumps energy-efficient?

Yes, heat pumps are known for their energy efficiency. Because they move heat rather than generate it through combustion, they can provide up to four times the amount of energy they consume, making them an environmentally friendly and cost-effective heating solution.

What are the benefits of installing a heat pump?

Installing a heat pump offers several benefits, including reduced energy bills, year-round comfort with both heating and cooling capabilities and lower carbon emissions. According to recent research, adding a heat pump to your home  can improve your property value by around 3%.

I’m considering replacing my boiler with a heat pump. Are there any incentives to supplement the installation cost?

We’re on hand to help you discover what solution is best suited to your home and help you claim your £7,500 support from the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme. To learn more or request a complimentary site-specific quote contact us here.

How do I know if I need an air source or a ground source heat pump?

This will likely depend on the outdoor space you have available and the geology under your home. Our team can advise which option is best for your home after completing a site survey.
