Feed In Tariff
Payments for microgeneration of electricity
The Feed in Tariff was introduced for wind and solar photovoltaics in April 2010 to encourage the uptake of electricity microgeneration. Properties must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of at least band D prior to commissioning of the microgeneration system. The initial tariff is set when the installation is completed and registered. The tariff is also then index linked each year.
